Training
Training combined with a proper diet/nutrition plays a huge role in my life. I have learned that it is important not to just train, but to train smart. I took lifting for granted in high school and college. When I entered the wonderful world of bodybuilding/figure/fitness; I realized that lifting heavy would help improve my physique, but I needed to lift properly.

Training tips
- Know what you are doing from knowledgeable people and resources (magazines, internet, and books).
- Have expectations and set realistic goals, but also know your limitations.
- Sometimes it is good to have a workout partner to help spot you on a specific exercise or to learn different ways to incorporate weight training.
- Don't get advice from everyone (it is good to get advice from someone you trust).
- Stay positive and remember to have FUN!!!!
Nutrition
Balancing a proper diet with protein (lean meat, fish), green veggies (broccoli, green beans), and complex carbohydrates (oatmeal, sweet potatoes) can make a huge difference to your physique. I am a CARB LOVER, but I know that I have to incorporate other foods to help build muscle and to attain a leaner physique!! If you are not sure what to do, it is always a good idea to seek assistance through a nutritionist.
Sample Daily Diet:
Meal 1: 1 cup oatmeal or cream of wheat and 4 egg whites
Meal 2: 4 oz of chicken breast and ½ sweet potatoes
Meal 3: Fish, ½ cup of broccoli, ½ cup of brown rice
Meal 4: ½ bagel and fat free cream cheese
Meal 5: 4 oz of chicken breast and ½ cup of whole wheat pasta w/cheese
Meal 6: Granola bar and fat free yogurt
Meal 7: Turkey cutlet, sweet potatoes, and mixed veggies
Meal 8: 6 egg whites and 1 slice of fat free cheese
My snacks include: raisins, cashews, rice cakes, sugar free jello, apples, bananas, and grapes.

- We depend on water for our survival!!
